Why is a dental check-up necessary?
Going for dental check-up is necessary because it allows your dentist to check for dental problems and ensure your mouth is kept healthy. Also, your dentist will be able to recommend treatments for you if any problem is found, that way small dental problems that could have been very serious are nipped in the bud.
What will the dentist do during a check-up?
At each check-up, your dentist will:
- Conduct an examination of your teeth, gums and mouth.
- Ask about your oral health, lifestyle and any problems you might have noticed with your teeth, gum or mouth since your last visit
- Offer advice on your lifestyle habits if they are not helping your dental or oral health.
- Schedule the next appointment with you.
How often should I have a check-up?
The dentist will recommended a date for another visit once check-up is complete. Set a reminder for your next appointment. It could be a some months or as long as two years after.
